Art work in Clay and IronConceptual art is art in which the concept(s) or idea(s) involved in the work take precedence over traditional aesthetic and material concerns. In conceptual art the idea or concept is the most important aspect of the work.

When an artist uses a conceptual form of art, it means that all of the planning and decisions are made beforehand and the execution is a perfunctory affair. The idea becomes a machine that makes the art.

This is Figurative ArtFigurative art, sometimes written as figurativism, describes artwork—particularly paintings and sculptures—which are clearly derived from real object sources, and are therefore by definition representational.

The formal elements, those aesthetic effeccts created by design upon whih figurataive art is dependent, include line, shape, color, light and dark, mass, volume, texture, and perspective.

The term "figurative art" is often taken to mean art which represents the human figure, or even an animal figure, and, though this is often the case, it is not necessarily so.

Over the Door OrnamentIn art , a commission is the hiring and payment for the creation of a piece, often on behalf of another.
Jon and Rita Minnis first came to me for a custom carved front door panels for a new home they were building. The couple wanted their doors to reflect the character of the building site that they had become so enchanted with during construction.
